Privacy Policy

What this site does with your data, in plain terms, in compliance with the GDPR
This English translation is provided for convenience only. The French version of this page is the legally binding version and prevails in the event of any discrepancy.
Data controller
The publisher of the Wiki Fate War site, acting in a non-professional capacity (see the legal notice), is the controller of the data processing described below. For any question or request, contact: contact@wiki-fatewar.com.
What data is collected, and why
Member account — a username and a password (never stored in plain text, only in hashed form). No real email address is requested: an internal technical address is generated automatically at registration and is never used to contact you.

Comments — the content of your comments, their date, as well as your IP address and your browser information (user agent), collected automatically by WordPress for spam-prevention purposes.

Game progress — if you choose to save your progress (Research tree, custom talent trees), this data is linked to your account so that you can find it again from one visit to the next.

Login history — the date, time and IP address of each successful login are recorded, solely for security purposes (detecting abnormal use of an account). This data is kept for a maximum of 12 months and then deleted automatically.

Failed login attempts — to block repeated password guessing, the IP address behind failed login attempts is recorded temporarily. After several failures, that address is blocked for a limited time and the block (IP address, username tried, date) is noted in a security log.

Account creation — to prevent automated mass sign-ups, the number of accounts created from the same connection is limited. A temporary counter, tied to a fingerprint of the IP address and not to the address itself, is kept for one hour and then deleted.
Legal basis and recipients
This processing is based on the performance of the service you request (account creation, saving progress) and on the legitimate interest of the publisher in ensuring the security and moderation of the site.

No data is sold, rented, assigned or transferred to any third party for commercial or advertising purposes. The only persons with access to this data are the site publisher and its host (IONOS, acting as technical processor; see the legal notice).
Cookies and external resources
The site uses cookies that are strictly necessary for its operation: keeping you logged in (session identifier) and display preferences (light/dark theme, stored in your browser, never sent to the server).

Traffic statistics (page views, visitors) are measured with Koko Analytics, a tool self-hosted on this same server, which does not send any data to a third-party service and does not store any IP address. It does not set any cookie. To avoid counting the same visit several times on the same day, it computes an anonymous fingerprint from your IP address, the name of your browser and a random key; this fingerprint cannot be used to recover your IP address or to identify you, and it is deleted every night together with its key. The statistics themselves (numbers of page views and visitors) are kept for 13 months.

No advertising cookie or individual tracking tool (such as Google Analytics) is used.

The fonts and scripts used by the site are hosted directly on its own server: no request is sent to Google, Cloudflare or any other third-party service while you browse.
Retention period
Your account and your comments are kept for as long as your account exists. The login history is kept for a maximum of 12 months. You can request the deletion of your account and your data at any time (see below).
Your rights
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act (loi Informatique et Libertés), you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, as well as the right to object.

To exercise these rights, contact contact@wiki-fatewar.com — you will receive a response within one month at most. You can also delete most of your data yourself (username, password, comments) directly from the My Account page.

If you believe that your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr).
Minors
This site is intended for anyone interested in the game Fate War, including minors. In accordance with the French Data Protection Act (loi Informatique et Libertés), the creation of an account by a minor under 15 years of age requires the consent of a holder of parental authority.
Security
Passwords are always hashed (never stored in plain text). Access to member data is restricted to the site publisher.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated, in particular if the site or the regulations change. The version in force is the one published on this page.
